This is a very specific initiative to address the gaps and lack of representation in the children’s books available in Nigeria today. Please follow ouidabooks.com for more information on our workshops for children’s picture books. You can also reach out to us at info@northernlights.com for more information.
Yes, an organisation can participate as an ‘individual’ donor.
The donor can choose which books in the Northern Lights Series they want to donate.
Absolutely. They just need to fill out the donation form and let us know which schools/institutions in Nigeria they would like us to send the books to.
Donations can be sent to any state, school or organisation in Nigeria. The reason we have focused on northern Nigeria is that this region has a huge number of children who are currently out of school.
The cost of shipping has been capped at 20% of the cost of the book purchase.
Yes, you can. Each order will be priced individually.
Yes, here are some of the bookstores that stock books in the Northern Lights Series:
Fasaha Café, Kaduna State and
Spine and Label Bookstore, Abuja FCT
Yes, the protagonists of these series are from northern Nigeria but the themes and the stories are universal and appeal to children everywhere.
Possibly. We will share more information about this in the coming months.
We love to receive images of children reading the books in the Northern Lights Series. We also love receiving photos and short videos of parents reading these books to their children. We will require your permission to share letters, feedback and images on our social media platforms.
Everyone can access the puzzles but they are much more engaging when children are familiar with the stories and the characters in them.
